After making the sea change to Margaret River, we decided that we were finally ready to hang up our party shoes and become parents. Unfortunately, the universe didn’t make it that easy for us. After temperature tracking for 6 months with no results (and with a husband was worked away most of the month) we […]

Does it traumatise kids if they see labour and birth?

I talk a bit about my own births when teaching my HypnoBirthing classes, and one thing I sometimes get asked by second/third/fourth time parents when explaining my fourth birth (which was a planned homebirth after 2 previous caesareans), is: “Did the kids mind seeing you in labour? Didn’t it traumatise them?” The answer is: […]

It’s SO important to choose your birthing environment and care provider wisely. So often we hear about women having terrible labour and/or birth experiences, or long recoveries after having a baby, and people put it down to “well that’s just part of birth”. But in reality, it’s NOT. There’s lots of things you can do […]

THE PREGNANCY Mila was a surprise but a surprise I desperately wanted 🙂 When I found out I was pregnant again, I was so so happy! So happy to be having another child but also so happy that I would get to experience one more pregnancy, labour and birth. My pregnancy and birth with Archie […]

This post isn’t saying anything that VBAC Mum’s don’t already know. This post is for everyone else… who may be interested in understanding VBAC Mum’s a bit better. For those of you who have never met me, you may not know that VBAC’s are a passion of mine. Myself, I’ve had a VBAC and a […]

Does everyone need a doula

Today I thought I’d write about something that’s been on my mind for a while. Every time I hear the sentence “Every birthing mother needs a doula”, I cringe a little bit. I think what that person is trying to say is “If I was going to have a baby, I would need a doula”. […]

Let Them Be Fierce

I love my kids determination, passion, strength and refusal to obey something that they don’t agree with. When my second daughter was about 4, I’ll never forget the look on the random boys face (who was maybe 10-ish?) when he took a bouncy ball of a little kid at the oval and made the kid cry. My daughter walked […]

Would you like to share your Birth Story on my blog? As a doula, I always tell Mums that it’s a good idea to write their birth story down. You may have loved your birth… this is a great way to re-live it! It’s also beautiful to be able to read back over your story […]

What exactly is HypnoBirthing? Anyone who’s spoken to me in the past two years has heard me go on and on about it, but what exactly is it? To help people understand it, I thought I’d answer the most common questions I get asked about HypnoBirthing. If you have any questions which aren’t answered here, just […]

When I was about 15 weeks pregnant with my fourth daughter, I completed my training to become a HypnoBirthing practitioner. (I may as well make the most of the spotlight while I’ve got your attention… yes I do have spaces available if you’re in the south west of Western Australia and would like to learn […]

If you're preparing for a positive birth experience, it's SO important to choose a wonderful, positive, informative birth education program to help you fully understand birth and mentally prepare yourself and your partner for labour, birth and parenthood.

HypnoBirthing is a full birth education program, which explains exactly what happens with your body and baby during labour and birth. Knowing this will allow you to work with your labour, and often love the experience, rather than just enduring it. HypnoBirthing is a full, holistic birth education program which runs as one 2.5 hour class a week for 5 weeks.

....................................

What is HypnoBirthing®?

HypnoBirthing® is a full childbirth education course and so much more.

Throughout the course, we discuss what your body will be doing during labour and birth and why. We talk about what your baby will be doing during labour and birth and why. The course explains how to work with your body’s birthing process and natural expulsive reflex, to allow your body to do what it was designed to do and does so well. It teaches anatomy, breathing techniques, how different positions, interventions and situations help or hinder the labour and birth process.

It teaches your partner about birth and gives them confidence and tips (and even a cheat sheet!) on how to best support you.

It teaches the history of birth and the medical system.

It explains how fear and stress affects your body’s ability to birth and also affects your baby’s oxygen supply. It’s important to face your fears and work through them and release them, so they don’t become an issue during your labour and birth. HypnoBirthing® helps you do this.

It discusses breastfeeding, care providers, water births, hospital births, home births, cord clamping, scans tests and your options… it goes over SO much over the space of 5 weeks.

But the biggest thing you’ll notice isn’t the specifics of what it teaches. The biggest thing that you’ll notice is what all this information changes your mindset about birth. HypnoBirthing® helps you get back to your instincts. By the end of the course, you will notice that you will be feeling SO much more confident. SO much more informed. And SO much more excited about your upcoming birth than you ever thought possible. It will really ignite a passion inside you, that you may have never realised you had.

And that’s something that you will take with you throughout the rest of your pregnancy, your birth, your post partum period, parenthood, and the rest of your life.

....................................

Private classes are also available to be booked any time and can also be booked by clicking the link above.

More information on what HypnoBirthing is can be found on my website: www.trustbreathebirth.com.au or comment or pm me if you have questions
